Artist’s Statement
I am a self-taught painter, working primarily in acrylic and collage. Over the past several years I've naturally gravitated toward maximalism, which I'm drawn to for its complexity, its layers, and the comfort I find in visual abundance. I paint figures, collage-esque compositions, and scenes through a semi-surrealist lens, blurring the line between the familiar and the unexpected. Each piece carries its own personal meanings to me, but I aim to leave room for the viewer to bring their own interpretations and feelings to it. Across it all, the work is tied together by a love of vibrant, abundant visuals.
